Rémi Durupt (2013)

El joven percusionista Frances Rémi Durupt nos presenta un programa muy versátil, incluyendo obras muy representativas del repertorio para percusión solista, como puede ser Rebonds de Iannis Xenakis y obras de reciente creación, como la obra En Rhythmoi de Octavi Rumbau. En Rhythmoi incluye manipulación electroacústica in-situ, que será realizada por el propio compositor.

La propuesta incorpora el patio del Solleric como un elemento activo del concierto ya que las obras se interpretarán en varios puntos del mismo. Al proponer una cierta flexibilidad escénica, la percepción acústica del oyente se vera modificada por el emplazamiento de los instrumentos a la hora de interpretar las obras. Entre obra y obra Octavi Rumbau realizará miniaturas electroacústicas a modo de puente. El concierto se plantea en formato continuo, sin pausas.

Prize laureate in numerous international competitions, including the 2009 International Percussion Competition in Geneva, Rémi Durupt’s artistic path has led him to embrace the diversity of musical expression, from electronic composition to improvisation. Eclectic and curious, he has collaborated in France and internationally as a member of numerous contemporary music ensembles (Warning, Eklekto, Links, ONCEIM – improvisation orchestra), and has premiered works by many composers like P. Jodlowsky, V. Cordero, A. Corrales, L. Durupt, J. Tejera, F. Bedrossian, O. Rumbau, both as a soloist and chamber musician. He has performed in Europe and North America and will be in artistic residency in Montreal, Barcelona and Florida during 2013/2014.

Following percussion studies at the Strasbourg and Geneva Conservatoires, Rémi Durupt pursued improvisation and chamber music studies at the Paris Conservatoire, where he is currently completing his Artist Diploma with a special focus on contemporary music. The Links Duo, which he founded with his brother Laurent, actively promotes new music and collaborates regularly with European visual artists.
